Government Polytechnic college Ashok Nagar was inaugurated under Open Door Education Policy by prime minister late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1964 with 30 seats in civil engineering. Presently college offers three year Diploma in civil engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering and mechanical engineering. The Institute holds 8.415 hectares of land with a main building, training shades, hostel & staff quarters. The Diploma is affiliated to RAJIV GANDHI PRODHYOGIKI VISHWAVIDHYALAY, BHOPAL .

 The institute is situated at district ASHOKNAGAR, about 200 KM North-East of Bhopal. ASHOKNAGAR city is 75 km from BINA on KOTA-BINA Railway route. It is also well connected through road.
